Capture

Every kind of capture, one keystroke away

Assign your own shortcuts to each capture — then never think about it again.

Capture area

Drag exactly what you need. The selection snaps crisp at any zoom.

Capture window

One click, one window — with its real shadow and rounded corners.

Full screen

The whole display, exactly as rendered — or cleaner than rendered.

Copy text from screen

Point at any area and the text lands on your clipboard, OCR’d.

Pin to screen

Float any capture above your work as a reference while you type.

Reopen last edit

Closed the editor too soon? Jump back into your last capture — annotations and undo history intact.

Scrolling capture

The whole page, not the visible bit. Shotcrisp scrolls for you and stitches every screen into one tall, seamless image — entire docs, changelogs, and threads in a single shot.

Annotate

Say it on the shot, not in a paragraph

The editor opens the instant you capture — everything is a draggable, undoable object.

Arrows that bend

Grab the mid-shaft knob and curve an arrow around anything. Tail pivots on the tip.

Shapes, text & steps

Rectangles, ellipses, freehand, labels, and auto-numbered step counters.

Blur · Pixelate · Redact

Three ways to make something unreadable — all baked into the export.

Backgrounds & frames

Gradient backdrops, transparent padding, rounded corners, a window frame — export-ready.

Rotate anything

A rotation handle on shapes and text, with snap at the angles you want.

Grab text

Hover any line in a capture to copy its exact text — or redact it in one click.

Blur everything else

Spotlight one region and the rest of the shot blurs — focus without cropping.

Undo everything

Every move, resize, edit, and sweep is one ⌘Z away. Nothing is precious.

Privacy

Your desktop is messy. Your captures aren’t.

Drag the handle — same desktop, same moment. The left is the screen; the right is what Shotcrisp captured.

Auto-Redact scanning a capture and covering an email address and a password with black boxes
  • Auto-Redact. One click finds emails, API keys, passwords, and card numbers — and covers each with a black box you can adjust.
  • Desktop icons hide during capture — replaced by your actual wallpaper, back the moment it’s done.
  • Dock, menu bar & widgets stay on your screen but out of your shots.
  • Notifications never land in a recording. Banners still appear to you — never in the file. On by default.
  • A never-capture list. Add 1Password, Signal, Mail — their windows can’t appear in any capture, even in the background.

Record

Recordings that explain themselves

  • Screen, window, or area — with your mic on a toggle, before and during the take.
  • A webcam bubble that follows you. Drag it, resize it, toggle it mid-take — it renders into the video even when you record a single window.
  • Clicks ripple, keys appear. Every click and shortcut renders on screen, so viewers follow along.
  • Trim, then ship. Recordings open straight in the trim editor; export video or GIF.
